Terms of Service
Last updated: April 13, 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing écoleVersity (ecoleversity.com), you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not accept, please do not use the platform.
2. Services
écoleVersity is an online tutoring platform connecting parents/students with selected teachers (full verification — identity, diplomas, video interview — is in progress for pilot teachers). Services include: live video tutoring, group classes, recorded courses, exam preparation, homework help, and on-demand tutoring.
3. User accounts
You must create an account to use our services. You are responsible for your credentials. Parent accounts manage their children's profiles. Teacher accounts require identity verification (national ID or passport).
4. Payments
Payments are made via Orange Money, Wave, or PayPal. Amounts are in FCFA. The rate a teacher sets is the price the family pays: écoleVersity deducts a service fee from it on each transaction, and the teacher receives the balance. The amount of that fee appears on each transaction in their teacher space. That net amount, in FCFA, is shown to the teacher under each of their rates, before they even save it. Teachers can request a payout of their earnings once they reach 5,000 FCFA (Orange Money or Wave payout within a few business days).
5. Refunds
A booking is fully refundable as credit to your écoleVersity wallet if cancelled within 24 hours of booking, or if booked less than 24 hours before the session start and cancelled before it begins. A session that has already started or been recorded is not refundable. In case of teacher cancellation, lateness over 15 minutes, absence, or platform technical issue, the refund is full. See the full cancellation policy for exceptions.
6. Teacher obligations
Teachers must provide authentic documents, respect scheduled times, maintain professional conduct, and not contact students or parents outside the platform.
7. Code of conduct
It is forbidden to share personal contact info in messages, send images in DMs, use inappropriate language, create multiple accounts, or bypass the payment system.
8. Child protection
écoleVersity takes child safety seriously. Teachers communicate only with parent accounts. Messages are analyzed for contact sharing attempts. Content is moderated by AI.
9. Intellectual property
Courses created by teachers remain their property. By publishing on écoleVersity, teachers grant a non-exclusive license to distribute content to enrolled students.
10. Contact blocking
For student safety, écoleVersity automatically blocks contact sharing attempts. Phone numbers, emails, social media, and URLs are detected and masked.
11. Termination
écoleVersity may suspend or terminate accounts for violations. Teacher sanctions: warning, 7-day restriction, 30-day restriction, permanent ban.
12. Liability
écoleVersity is a marketplace. Teachers are independent contractors. The platform is not responsible for network interruptions.
13. Session recording
All live tutoring sessions on écoleVersity are recorded automatically. This recording is mandatory and cannot be disabled by the teacher or parents. Recording serves: (a) student safety, (b) dispute resolution, (c) automatic class summaries for parents, and (d) improvement of our educational AI. Retention: raw video is kept for 90 days then deleted automatically. Transcripts and generated summaries are retained for long-term educational value. Teacher obligations: never download, copy, re-record or store a session outside the platform. Recordings can only be shared via secure écoleVersity links. Parent obligations: never share recordings with people outside the families enrolled in the class. Links are personal and access is logged. Unauthorized sharing leads to account suspension. Promotional use: any use of class excerpts to promote the platform requires additional and explicit parental consent, requested case-by-case.
14. Changes
écoleVersity reserves the right to modify these terms. Users will be notified of important changes by email.
